Temporary Traffic Restrictions in Topsham

Devon County Council has announced a temporary prohibition of through traffic on Lower Shapter Street, Topsham. This restriction is effective from 21 December 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months, with an anticipated completion date of 31 March 2026. The closure is necessary to facilitate scaffolding for rendering and structural restoration works at the Topsham Museum.

Affected vehicles will need to follow an alternative signed route via Higher Shaptor Street and Strand. For further details, PSB Scaffolding can be contacted at 01626 352715.

New Community Building in South West Exeter

In South West Exeter, Devon County Council is constructing a new community building alongside a doctor's surgery at March Close, near the A379. The construction is expected to be completed by late 2026, with the facility available for transfer in early 2027.

The community building will cover an area of 805 square metres and will require fitting out and furnishing by the occupiers post-transfer. Organisations interested in using the building for community purposes are invited to submit expressions of interest by midday on 14 January 2026. Submissions should be addressed to Megan Cross at Devon County Council.

These developments highlight ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and community facilities in the region. Residents and organisations are encouraged to engage with these projects to ensure they meet local needs effectively.
