Devon County Council has announced temporary parking prohibitions on Fore Street in Topsham and Water Lane in Exeter, effective from early January 2025. These measures are being implemented under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14, to facilitate essential works.

On Fore Street, Topsham, parking will be prohibited from Monday January 6 2025 for a maximum duration of 18 months, although the work is anticipated to conclude by Friday January 24 2025. The restriction spans from Country Cheeses to The Globe Pub. This measure is necessary to allow scaffolding to be erected outside Siena Boutique at 53 Fore Street due to damage caused by Co-Op vehicles impacting the building. For further details, Estuary Scaffolding can be contacted at 07854 950856.

Similarly, Water Lane in Exeter will see parking restrictions starting Wednesday January 8 2025, also for a maximum of 18 months, with an expected completion date of Friday January 17 2025. This prohibition is required to facilitate jointing works by National Grid. For more information regarding these works, National Grid can be reached at 01271 347735.

Both restrictions have been deemed necessary by Devon County Council to ensure public safety and the efficient completion of the required works. There are no alternative routes provided during these periods.

For those who have any concerns or believe they may be adversely impacted by these restrictions, it is advised to contact Devon County Council directly. Further details can be found in the original public notice here.
