Devon County Council has announced a temporary prohibition of parking on Temple Road in Exeter to facilitate essential gas mains replacement work. This restriction will commence on 2 January 2026 and is expected to conclude by 13 February 2026. The order is made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14.

The affected area includes sections of Temple Road near EX2 4HQ. During this period, no vehicles will be allowed to park or wait on the designated sections of the road. Notably, there is no alternative route provided during the restriction.

This measure is deemed necessary to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the gas mains replacement by Wales & West Utilities. Residents and motorists are advised to plan accordingly and seek alternative parking arrangements during this time.

For further details or inquiries, individuals can contact Wales & West Utilities at 0800 9122999.

The notice was published in the Exeter Express & Echo and dated 12 December 2025. Meg Booth, Director of Climate Change, Environment & Transport at Devon Highways, Devon County Council, issued the notice under reference TTR02667221.
