Plymouth City Council has announced a temporary prohibition of driving on Stag Lane, effective from 1 May 2026. This measure is being implemented under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months.

The restriction will apply to the entire length of Stag Lane and will be enforced on the days and during the hours when appropriate traffic signs are displayed. The primary reason for this prohibition is to facilitate pole works scheduled to commence on the same day, with working hours anticipated between 9:30am and 3:30pm.

Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and seek alternative routes during this period. Those who have any concerns or believe they may be adversely impacted are encouraged to contact Sunbelt Rentals at 03700 500792 for further information.

This notice was published by the Director for Growth at Plymouth City Council, located at Ballard House, Plymouth, PL1 3BJ, and appeared in The Herald on 7 April 2026.
