Plymouth City Council has announced a temporary prohibition of parking, waiting, loading, and unloading on several roads in Plymouth. This measure is part of the preparations for phased gas main works scheduled to begin on 27 October 2025 and expected to continue until 22 December 2025. The affected areas include Southgate Avenue from Great Orchard Close to Holmwood Avenue, as well as the entirety of Southgate Close, Basinghall Close, and Tudor Close.
The restrictions will be enforced whenever the appropriate traffic signs are displayed. This order is made under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months.
Residents and motorists are advised to plan accordingly and seek alternative parking arrangements during this period. Those who have any concerns or believe they may be adversely impacted are encouraged to contact Wales & West Utilities at 0800 9122 999 for further information.
