Plymouth City Council has issued a notice regarding the temporary prohibition of driving on Radford Avenue Lane South. This measure is being implemented to facilitate essential apparatus replacement works. The closure will be effective from 23 February 2026 and is expected to last until 2 March 2026, operating 24 hours a day during this period.
The order, made under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, will prohibit all vehicular traffic from using Radford Avenue Lane South in its entirety. The restriction will be enforced whenever the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
This temporary closure is necessary to ensure the safety of both the workers and the public while the National Grid carries out the required maintenance. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and seek alternative routes during this time.
For further details or inquiries about the works, individuals can contact the National Grid directly at 08006783105.
The notice was published by Plymouth City Council's Director for Growth and appeared in The Herald on 26 January 2026.
