Plymouth traffic restrictions for gas mains works
Plymouth City Council announces temporary traffic restrictions on Central Park Avenue and nearby streets for gas mains works from January to March 2025, urging residents to plan ahead

Plymouth City Council has announced a temporary prohibition of driving, parking, waiting, loading, and unloading on several streets in Plymouth. This measure is part of the phased gas mains works scheduled to commence on Monday January 27 2025 and expected to continue until Monday March 24 2025. The affected areas include Central Park Avenue, Holdsworth Street, Wake Street, and Whittington Street.

The restrictions will be enforced as follows:

  • Central Park Avenue: Prohibition of driving northeast between Pennycomequick Roundabout and Wake Street. Parking, waiting, loading, and unloading are prohibited between Pennycomequick Roundabout and Dale Road.
  • Holdsworth Street: No right-hand turn onto Central Park Avenue. Parking, waiting, loading, and unloading are prohibited between Central Park Avenue and Holdsworth Street Lane East.
  • Wake Street: No right-hand turn onto Central Park Avenue. Parking, waiting, loading, and unloading are prohibited between Central Park Avenue and the junction with Holdsworth Street Lane East.
  • Whittington Street: Prohibition of driving between Alma Road and Amherst Lane East.

These restrictions will be in effect whenever the appropriate traffic signs are displayed. The order is set to remain valid for a maximum period of 18 months from its commencement date.
