Upcoming Road Closures in Plymouth

Plymouth City Council has announced several temporary road closures to facilitate essential infrastructure works. These closures will affect key routes including Normandy Hill, Woolwell Roundabout, and Alderney Road.

Normandy Hill Closure

The City of Plymouth (Normandy Hill) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving) Order 2026 will prohibit driving between Bridgelands Close and Vicarage Gardens. This closure is scheduled from 13 January 2026 to 20 January 2026, operating 24 hours a day. The closure is necessary for new connection works. For further information, contact National Grid at 105.

Woolwell Roundabout Closure

The City of Plymouth (Woolwell Roundabout) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving) Order 2026 will restrict driving on the southern section of the roundabout. No right-hand turns will be allowed from Tavistock Road IB and from Woolwell Road onto Tavistock Road OB. This closure begins on 26 January 2026 and is expected to last until 11 September 2026. Alderney Road Closure

The City of Plymouth (Alderney Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Parking, Waiting, Loading & Unloading) Order 2026 will affect the entire length of Alderney Road.
