Plymouth City Council has announced a series of temporary road closures and restrictions set to begin on Monday January 5 2026 These measures are part of a phased gas works project expected to last until May 22 2026 The affected roads include Lorrimore Avenue St Georges Terrace Sturdee Road Fisher Road Ganges Road Glenmore Avenue Craigmore Avenue Welsford Avenue and Balmoral Avenue

The restrictions will prohibit driving parking waiting loading and unloading on these roads during the specified period Traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when these prohibitions are in effect The order is made under section 14 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and will remain in force for up to 18 months
