Plymouth City Council has announced a temporary prohibition of driving, parking, waiting, loading, and unloading on several roads in Plymouth as part of a new cycle path scheme. This order, made under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, will affect Colesdown Hill, Elburton Road, Merafield Road, and Haye Road.

The restrictions will be implemented as follows:

• Colesdown Hill: From First Avenue to Billacombe Villas.
• Elburton Road: From Colesdown Hill to Southern Way.
• Merafield Road: At a speed exceeding 30mph from 10m north of the A38 overbridge to Haye Road.
• Haye Road: At a speed exceeding 30mph from Merafield Road to Frys Nursery.

These prohibitions will be enforced on the days and during the hours when appropriate traffic signs are displayed. The order is set to commence on 9 February 2026 and will remain in effect for up to 18 months. The phased cycle path scheme is expected to begin on this date and continue until 2 August 2027.
