Upcoming Road Closures in Plymouth

Plymouth City Council has announced several temporary road closures scheduled for January 2026. These closures are necessary to facilitate essential infrastructure works across the city.

Normandy Hill Closure

The City of Plymouth (Normandy Hill) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving) Order 2026 will prohibit driving on Normandy Hill between Bridgelands Close and Vicarage Gardens. This closure is set to commence on 13 January 2026 and is expected to last until 20 January 2026, operating 24 hours a day. The closure is required for new connection works. Pemros Road Bus Gate Suspension

The City of Plymouth (Pemros Road (Bus Gate)) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving) Order 2026 will suspend the bus gate on Pemros Road between Normandy Hill and Tamar Bridge Visitor Centre. This suspension will be in effect from 21 January 2026 to 23 January 2026, during the hours of 9pm to 4am. The closure is necessary for Saltash Tunnel upgrade works. Alderney Road Restrictions

The City of Plymouth (Alderney Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Parking, Waiting, Loading & Unloading) Order 2026 will affect Alderney Road in its entirety. This order will be enforced from 12 January 2026, with restrictions in place from 9:30am to 3:30pm to accommodate pole and cable works.
