Plymouth road closures and restrictions announced for March 2026

Plymouth City Council has announced several temporary road closures and restrictions set to take place in March 2026. These measures are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements and maintenance works across the city.

Notte Street, Devonport Hill, Victoria Road

From 9 March to 10 April 2026, phased resurfacing works will lead to the prohibition of driving, parking, waiting, loading, and unloading on Notte Street, Devonport Hill (from Cumberland Road to Kings Road), and Victoria Road (from Lynher Street to Verna Road). The restrictions will be enforced as indicated by traffic signs. For more details, contact South West Highways at 01752 278278.

Greatlands Place/Wolseley Road

Starting on 23 March until 7 April 2026, gas main works will result in the prohibition of driving, parking, waiting, loading, and unloading on Greatlands Place eastbound between Wolseley Road and Greatlands Crescent. Additionally, there will be no right-hand turn into Wolseley Close from Wolseley Road. For further information, contact Wales & West Utilities at 0800 9122999.

Rectory Road/ Corea Terrace/First Avenue/Second Avenue

From 23 March to 11 May 2026, gas main works will necessitate the prohibition of driving, parking, waiting, loading, and unloading on Rectory Road, Corea Terrace, First Avenue, and Second Avenue. Contact Wales & West Utilities at 0800 9122999 for more information.

Woolwell Crescent

Signage works scheduled for 12 March from 7pm to 11pm will require a temporary prohibition of driving westbound between Eco Way and Tavistock Road. For additional details, contact Nationwide Traffic Solutions at 01652 640996.

Tavistock Road

The Woolwell to The George Scheme works will commence on 11 March and continue until 24 March 2027. During this period, a speed limit of no more than 30mph will be enforced between The George Junction and New Road. For further information, contact Balfour Beatty at 07976 934566.
