In a recent public notice, Plymouth City Council has announced a temporary prohibition on driving, parking, waiting, loading, and unloading across several roads in the city. This measure is part of the council's efforts to facilitate tree pollarding works scheduled to commence early next year.

The affected roads include Allenby Road, Foliot Avenue, Foliot Road, Cookworthy Road (between Ash Grove and Foliot Road), Greatlands Crescent, Greatlands Place, Floyd Close, Austin Avenue, Briardale Road, Dingle Road, Halycon Road, Victoria Place (between Albert Road and Portland Road), Wanstead Grove, Greystoke Avenue, Carradale Road, Queen Anne Terrace (between Armada Street and Gibbon Lane), Stuart Road (between numbers 49 and 73), Goodwin Crescent, and Grassendale Avenue.

These restrictions will be enforced from Monday January 6 2025 and are expected to remain in place until Friday June 6 2025. The exact dates and times of the restrictions will be communicated through advance warning boards displayed at each location. The order is set to last for a maximum of 18 months under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and seek alternative routes where necessary.
