In a recent public notice, Plymouth City Council has announced a temporary prohibition of parking, waiting, loading, and unloading on several roads in the Ridge Park Road area. This measure is being implemented under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate phased gas main works.

The affected roads include:

  • Ridge Park Road from Moorland Road to 34 Ridge Park Road
  • Swan Gardens from Ridge Park Road to 42 Swan Gardens
  • Grebe Close from Swan Gardens to 15 Grebe Close
  • Mallard Close from Tern Gardens to 19 Mallard Close
  • Tern Gardens from Ridge Park Road to 52 Tern Gardens

These restrictions will be enforced on the days and during the hours when appropriate traffic signs are displayed. The order will come into effect on Monday March 31 2025 and is set to last for a maximum of 18 months. However, it is anticipated that the gas main works will be completed by Monday June 30 2025, operating continuously for 24 hours each day.

Residents and motorists are advised to plan accordingly and seek alternative parking arrangements during this period. Those who have any concerns or believe they may be adversely impacted are encouraged to contact Wales & West Utilities at 0800 9122 999 for further information.
