Plymouth City Council has announced a temporary prohibition of driving on Pasley Street, affecting the section from Ford Hill to Ryder Road. This closure is set to facilitate essential lead repair works and will be enforced under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The order will come into effect on 25 November 2025 and is expected to remain in place until 19 December 2025. The prohibition will be operational 24 hours a day during this period, as indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The council has stated that the closure is necessary to ensure the safety of both workers and the public while the repairs are carried out. South West Water is responsible for the works and can be contacted for further information at 0344 346 2020.

Residents and commuters are advised to plan alternative routes during this time to avoid disruptions. Those who have any concerns or believe they may be adversely impacted are encouraged to contact Plymouth City Council's Director for Growth at Ballard House, Plymouth, PL1 3BJ.

For more details on the closure and its impact, please refer to the original public notice published in The Herald on 10 November 2025.
