Temporary road closure on Pinhoe Road, Exeter

Devon County Council has announced a temporary prohibition of through traffic on Pinhoe Road, Exeter. This closure is necessary to facilitate essential resurfacing and high friction surfacing (HFS) works. The order is effective from Tuesday, January 31, 2026, and is expected to conclude by Thursday, February 2, 2026. The closure will be in place nightly from 7pm to 7am.

Affected routes and alternative options

During the closure period, vehicles will not be permitted to travel on the specified sections of Pinhoe Road. An alternative route has been arranged and will be clearly signposted. The diversion will guide traffic via B3212 Polsloe Bridge, B3212 Whipton, B3181 Hill Barton Road, B3181/A3015 Middlemoor Roundabout, B3183 Sidmouth Road, B3181/3212 Paris Street Roundabout, B3212 Western Way, and B3212 Blackboy Road. The same route applies in reverse for vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.
