In a recent public notice, National Grid Electricity Distribution (South West) Plc has announced its application to the Secretary of State at the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero. The application, made under Section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989, seeks consent to modify an existing tower to facilitate the connection of the 49.9MW Peradon Solar Farm near Clyst Hydon, Devon.

The proposed modification involves attaching downleads to a new wood pole gantry, providing a point of connection for the solar farm. This development is part of efforts to enhance renewable energy infrastructure in the region. The plans for the proposed apparatus designs are available for public inspection at National Grid Electricity Distribution's office on Osprey Road, Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter, Devon, from Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. Alternatively, they can be viewed online at National Grid's website.

All objections must be received within four weeks from the latest publication date.

What happens if I submit an objection?

Any objections or representations will be shared with the relevant planning authority and the applicant unless a request is made in writing not to do so. In such cases, only the fact that an objection has been made will be communicated without disclosing details.
