Plymouth City Council has announced a proposal to construct a road hump on Pearn Road, approximately 7.4 metres from the junction with Higher Compton Road. This initiative is part of the council's ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and manage traffic effectively.

The proposed road hump will be a flat top design, measuring 7.3 metres in width, 6.0 metres in length, and 100 millimetres in height. Such measures are typically implemented to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety for pedestrians and other road users.

Residents and interested parties are encouraged to review the detailed plans available on the Plymouth City Council website. Those wishing to comment on the proposal should submit their feedback in writing to the Service Director for Street Services at Plymouth Highways, Ballard House, West Hoe Road, Plymouth, PL1 3BJ or via email at trafficmanagementinbox@plymouth.gov.uk. All comments should reference ‘Amd.2026.2137355 Pearn Road’ and be submitted by 15 April 2026.

This development is part of a broader strategy under Section 90 of the Highways Act 1980, aimed at improving traffic conditions across Plymouth.
