Plymouth City Council has issued a notice regarding a temporary prohibition of driving on Normandy Hill. This measure is being implemented to facilitate new connection works scheduled to commence on 13 January 2026. The affected section of the road lies between Bridgelands Close and Vicarage Gardens.

The prohibition will be in effect 24 hours a day from 13 January to 20 January 2026. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to inform drivers of the restrictions during this period. The order is made under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and will remain valid for up to 18 months, although the actual work is expected to last only one week.

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes during this time to avoid disruptions. For further information about the works or the road closure, individuals can contact National Grid at 105.

This notice was published by the Director for Growth at Plymouth City Council and appeared in The Herald on 15 December 2025.
