Holcim UK Limited has submitted an application to the Environment Agency to vary its existing licence for water abstraction at Lee Moor Quarry in Devon. The application, made under the Water Resources Act 1991 and the Water Act 2003, seeks to renew and modify licence serial number SW/047/0002/021. This licence currently permits the extraction of water from underground strata composed of Dartmoor Granite at National Grid Reference SX 57177 62313.

The proposed variation aims to increase the authorised daily abstraction volume from 1,531 cubic metres to 2,040 cubic metres and the annual volume from 398,019 cubic metres to 530,400 cubic metres. This increase is intended to support mineral washing activities at the quarry.
