Holcim UK Limited has submitted an application to the Environment Agency to vary its existing licence for water abstraction at Lee Moor Quarry in Devon. This application seeks to amend licence serial number SW/047/0002/021, which currently permits the extraction of water from underground strata composed of Dartmoor Granite.
The proposed variation involves increasing the authorised daily abstraction volume from 1,531 cubic metres to 2,040 cubic metres and the annual volume from 398,019 cubic metres to 530,400 cubic metres. This increase is intended to support mineral washing operations at the quarry.
Members of the public and interested parties are invited to review the application documents and submit their representations. Comments should be sent in writing, quoting the applicant's name and reference number NPS/WR/044796, to the Environment Agency's Permitting and Support Centre by 17 April 2026. Submissions can be made via email or post.
For further information on how to make a representation or to arrange a viewing of the application documents, individuals can contact the Environment Agency by calling 03708 506 506.
