Devon County Council has announced a proposal to implement traffic restrictions on Hill Lane, Exeter, as part of the School Streets initiative. This measure, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, aims to prohibit motor vehicles except authorised vehicles during school drop-off and pick-up times. The restrictions are set to be in effect from Monday to Friday between 8.15am and 8.55am, and again from 3.15pm to 3.45pm.

The initiative is designed to enhance safety for school children by reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality around schools during peak times. The full draft order, including the plan and statement of reasons, can be accessed online at devon.cc/tro. Additionally, these documents are available for public viewing during normal office hours at Devon County Council's offices.
