Hertfordshire County Council has announced a series of temporary road closures and traffic management measures across various locations in the county, effective from late May 2025. These measures are being implemented under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate essential utility and infrastructure works.

Footpath Widford 25 Closure

The footpath Widford 25 will be temporarily closed from its junction with Widford 26 to Widford 18, covering approximately 625 metres. This closure is necessary for watercourse works and will commence on or after Monday June 9 2025, lasting up to eight weeks. Pedestrians can use an alternative route via Widford 18/Wareside 84 Restricted Byway and Widford 18 Footpath. Rockfield Avenue, Ware

A section of Rockfield Avenue in Ware will be closed to vehicular traffic from its junction with Cranbrook Close southwestwards for approximately 15 metres. This closure is due to utility service works and will begin on Wednesday June 11 2025, lasting up to 18 months, though only active when indicated by signage. Bromley Lane, Much Hadham

Bromley Lane in Much Hadham will be closed from its junction with C15 north westwards for about 207 metres starting Tuesday June 10 2025. The closure is required for utility service works. An alternative route is available via C15, The Ford, The Ash, Standon Road, A120, High Street, Hadham Road and Bromley Lane. Burton Lane, Goffs Oak

Burton Lane in Goffs Oak will be closed from its junction with Elizabeth Gardens southwards to B156 Goffs Oak for approximately 253 metres starting Tuesday June 10 2025. The closure supports necessary roadworks. Alternative routes include Burton Lane, St James Road, Newgatestreet Road and B156 Goffs Lane. Turnford Traffic Management

Temporary traffic management measures will affect various roads in Turnford starting Monday June 9 2025. Restrictions include prohibiting right and left turns on A10 Great Cambridge Road and Vancouver Road during ongoing works. Alternative routes are provided via local roads. Cheshunt Closures

Several roads in Cheshunt will experience temporary closures starting early June. These include Church Lane from A10 Great Cambridge Road to Whitefields Road and Hammondstreet Road near Dahlia Close roundabout. South Street, Hertford

South Street in Hertford will close from its junction with Fore Street northwestwards for approximately 25 metres starting Saturday June 7 2025 due to utility works. Additional Closures

Other affected areas include Walkern Road in Watton at Stone, Ermine Street in Buntingford, Redan Road in Ware, and Dark Lane in Cheshunt with closures commencing between late May and early June for periods up to 18 months as required by ongoing works.
