Hertfordshire traffic notices for multiple road closures
Hertfordshire County Council announces temporary road closures for utility works.

Hertfordshire County Council has issued a series of temporary traffic orders affecting multiple roads across the county. These orders are necessary to facilitate various utility and maintenance works scheduled to commence in late November 2025.

Key Road Closures

  1. B156 Cuffley Hill, Goffs Oak: The road will be closed from 8 December 2025 for up to 18 months to allow utility connection works. An alternative route is provided via B156 Goffs Lane and other major roads.
  2. Balfour Street, Hertford: Closure starts on 27 November 2025 for utility service works. Access will be maintained where possible, with a diversion via nearby streets.
  3. B1037 White Hill, Walkern/Luffenhall: This closure begins on 27 November 2025 for telegraph pole replacement. A detailed diversion route is available.
  4. Bromley Lane, Much Hadham/Standon: Scheduled from 26 November 2025 for telegraph pole replacement, with access maintained where feasible.
  5. Church Green, Benington: Closure from 26 November 2025 for telegraph pole replacement, with a local diversion in place.
  6. Rosedale Way, Cheshunt: Starting on 24 November 2025, this closure includes pedestrian restrictions due to nearby works.
  7. South Street, Stanstead Abbotts: From 24 November 2025, this road will be closed with no alternative route available during the works.
  8. A507 Baldock Road, Cottered: Closure from 24 November 2025 for utility service works with a comprehensive diversion plan.
  9. Gobions Lane, Stapleford: Scheduled closure from 26 November 2025 for bridge maintenance work.

Additional Traffic Orders

The council also proposes new waiting restrictions and no stopping zones in parts of Hertford to improve road safety. These changes are open for public consultation until 11 December 2025.
