Hertfordshire County Council has announced several temporary traffic orders set to take effect in March 2026. These orders will impact various roads across the county, including Braughing, Great Munden, Hertford, Buntingford, Gilston, Ware, Widford, Cheshunt and Wormley.

Braughing

The council has issued a temporary order to manage traffic on B1368 Wickham Hill and Station Road. Speed limits will be reduced to 30mph and 40mph in certain sections due to bridge works. The order is effective from 16 March 2026 for up to 18 months but will only apply when signs are displayed.

Great Munden

Stockalls Lane will be temporarily closed from its junction with Great Munden Public Footpath No.058 for utility repair works. An alternative route is provided via Stockalls Lane and surrounding roads. This closure begins on 17 March 2026.

Hertford

Temporary closures and waiting restrictions will affect Davies Street, Cross Road and Duncombe Road. While no alternative routes are available for some sections, access to properties will be maintained where possible.

Buntingford

The A10 Buntingford Bypass will experience closures with alternative routes provided via major roads including the A505 and A602. These measures are necessary for roadworks scheduled in the area.

Gilston

Pye Corner and Gilston Lane will see temporary closures with diversions in place through Eastwick Road and other local routes.

Ware, Widford, Cheshunt and Wormley

Various roads in these areas will face temporary closures and waiting restrictions. Notably, King George Road in Ware and Shirley Close in Wormley will have no alternative routes during works but property access will be maintained.
