Hertfordshire County Council has announced several temporary traffic management measures and road closures across the county, effective from March 2026. These measures are necessary to facilitate essential works on or near the roads.

Braughing Traffic Management

From 16 March 2026, temporary speed restrictions will be implemented on B1368 Wickham Hill and Station Road in Braughing. The speed limit will be reduced to 30mph and 40mph in designated sections to accommodate bridge works.

Great Munden Road Closure

Stockalls Lane in Great Munden will be closed from 17 March 2026 for utility repair works. An alternative route is available via Stockalls Lane, C16 Great Munden, Munden Road, Mill Lane, and C95.

Hertford Road Closures

Several roads in Hertford will experience closures starting 16 March 2026. Davies Street, Cross Road, and Duncombe Road will be affected. Alternative routes have been provided where possible.

Buntingford Traffic Restrictions

The A10 Buntingford Bypass will face temporary closures from its junction with the A507 Baldock Road roundabout to the A10 Puckeridge Bypass. These restrictions are necessary for scheduled works.

Gilston Lane Closures

Pye Corner and Gilston Lane in Gilston will be closed from 16 March 2026 for roadworks. Alternative routes have been established to minimise disruption.

Additional Notices

• Ware and Widford: Temporary waiting restrictions and road closures will affect various roads.
• Waltham Cross: New waiting restrictions are proposed to improve road safety.
• Cheshunt: Multiple roads will be closed for water mains replacement starting 30 March 2026.
• Standon/Much Hadham: Bromley Lane will be closed for up to ten days for essential works.
