Hertfordshire County Council has issued several road traffic notices that will come into effect in March 2026. These include temporary closures and new waiting restrictions across various locations.
The A10 in Cheshunt will be temporarily closed from its junction with the B198 Lieutenant Ellis Way roundabout southwards for approximately 822 metres. This closure is necessary for road marking works and will commence on 7 March 2026, lasting up to 18 months. Alternative routes have been provided via A121, A1010, A1055, and the M25.
In Bengeo, new waiting restrictions are proposed under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to improve road safety. Additionally, a junction speed table will be installed on Byde Street and Wellington Street as per the Highways Act 1980. These measures aim to enhance safety and manage traffic flow effectively.
Bishop’s Stortford will also see new waiting restrictions on parts of Farnham Road, Corn Road, and Hampton Way. These changes are part of an order effective from 9 March 2026.
Residents can view detailed documents regarding these proposals at Farnham House in Stevenage or online at Hertfordshire County Council's website. Queries can be directed to the respective highways engineers listed in the notice.
Those who wish to object or make representations about these proposals should do so by writing to the TRO Services Team by 26 March 2026.
