Hertfordshire County Council has announced a series of temporary road traffic orders affecting various locations across the county. These measures are being implemented under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate essential works.

Footpath Closures

• Buntingford 035: The footpath will be closed from Norris Way westwards for approximately 100m starting on or after 8 May 2026 for up to six months. This closure is necessary for development works.
• Bushbarns, Cheshunt: The footpath on the north side of Nos.37-40 Bushbarns will be closed from 14 May 2026 for utility service works, with an alternative route provided.

Road Closures and Traffic Management

• Stanstead Road, Hertford: The eastbound carriageway will be closed from 17 May 2026 for up to 65 days. A speed restriction of 30mph will also be enforced on certain sections.
• Crouch Lane, Goffs Oak: Scheduled to close on 13 May 2026 for one day due to utility works.
• Ashendene Road, Bayford: Closure from 11 May 2026 for five days for water connection works.
• Roydon Road, Stanstead Abbotts: Closure from 27 April 2026 for gas mains replacement, lasting approximately two weeks.
• Church Lane, Wormley: Closure on 29 April 2026 for one day due to utility works.
• Lea Road into A121 Station Road, Waltham Cross: Right turn prohibition from 27 April 2026 for street lighting works.
• Brookside, Hertford: Closure from 27 April 2026 for three days with no alternative route available.
• Bromley Lane, Standon: Closure and waiting restrictions from 27 April 2026 for five days during roadworks.
