Hertfordshire County Council has announced a series of temporary road closures across the county starting in January 2026. These closures are necessary to facilitate various utility and maintenance works.

Bridleway Little Berkhamsted 18

The bridleway will be closed from its junction with Lower Hatfield Road southwards for approximately 170 metres. This closure is scheduled for 27 January 2026 and will last up to one day. An alternative route is available via Little Berkhamsted 4 and Little Berkhamsted 26.

Rowney Lane, Dane End

Rowney Lane will be closed from a point 30 metres southwest of its junction with Sacombe Public Byway Open to All Traffic No.001 southwestwards for approximately 70 metres. The closure will commence on 23 January 2026 and could last up to 18 months, although restrictions will only apply when indicated by signage.

A119 North Road, Hertford

This section of the A119 will be closed from Cedar Close to the Beane Road roundabout, covering approximately 117 metres. The closure is set to begin on 23 January 2026.

Herongate Road Footpath, Cheshunt

The footpath behind Nos.77-91 Herongate Road will be closed from the northern boundary of No.89 south westwards for about 23 metres starting on 26 January 2026.

Cherry Green Lane, Westmill

Cherry Green Lane will be closed from a point 390 metres northeast of its junction with Westmill Public Footpath No.001 north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with an unnamed road (3U20), spanning approximately 1450 metres. This closure begins on 29 January 2026.

Pelham Road, Braughing

Pelham Road will be closed from a point 57 metres southwest of Vicarage Lane southwestwards for about 55 metres starting on 29 January 2026.

C16/Station Hill, Westmill

This unnamed road will be closed from a point 34 metres southeast of Station Road southeastwards for approximately 100 metres beginning on 29 January 2026.

Various Roads in Hertford and Watton at Stone

Several roads including sections of A414 London Road and Mangrove Road in Hertford, as well as Walkern Road in Watton at Stone, will face temporary closures starting on 27 January 2026.

Rosedale Way, Cheshunt

Rosedale Way will be closed from Jackson Drive northeastwards and southeastwards for about 111 metres starting on 26 January 2026.

Blounts Lane, Allens Green

Blounts Lane will be closed from a point 190 metres southwest of Sacombe Ash Lane southwestwards for about 78 metres beginning on 26 January 2026.

Various Roads in Hoddesdon

Multiple roads including Bridleway South and Dymokes Way in Hoddesdon will experience closures starting on 26 January 2026 due to gas main replacements.
