Hertfordshire County Council has announced several temporary road closures and traffic notices effective from April 2026. These measures are necessary to facilitate essential works across various locations in the county.

Key Road Closures and Alternative Routes

• Woodland Road, Hertford Heath: Closure from its junction with Church Hill south eastwards for approximately 367m. Alternative route via Church Hill, Vicarage Causeway, B1197 London Road.
• Cherry Green Lane, Westmill: Closure from a point 484m north east of its junction with Westmill Restricted Byway No.004 for approximately 260m. Alternative route via Cherry Green Lane and unnamed roads.
• High Wych Lane, High Wych: Closure from its junction with High Wych Road north westwards for approximately 46m. Alternative route via High Wych Road.
• Green Lane, Braughing: Closure from its junction with The Street for approximately 351m. No alternative route available.
• Railway Place, Hertford: Closure from its junction with Railway Street to A119 Ware Road for approximately 171m. Alternative route via Railway Street and Mill Road.
• Various Roads in Cheshunt: Including Debenham Road and Park Lane. Alternative routes provided where applicable.

Additional Notices

• Bridleway Thundridge 48 & Footpaths 49, 49A, 49B: Closure for resurfacing works starting April 13, 2026.
• Crib Street, Ware: Closure for water connection works starting April 13, 2026.
• Queen Hoo Lane, Tewin: Closure for utility service works starting April 13, 2026.
• Benington Road, Walkern: Closure with waiting restrictions starting April 13, 2026.
