Hertfordshire County Council has issued a series of temporary road closure and waiting restriction orders across various locations in the county, effective from late March and early April 2026. These measures are being implemented under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate essential works.
Railway Place, Hertford From 30 March 2026, Railway Place will be closed to vehicular traffic between its junctions with Railway Street and A119 Ware Road for approximately five days. An alternative route will be available via Railway Street, Mill Road, and A119 Ware Road.
Plashes Close, Standon Starting on 1 April 2026, Plashes Close will be closed for two days to replace a telegraph pole. The closure extends from the eastern boundary of No.16 Plashes Close southeastwards for about 17 metres.
Green Lane, Braughing Green Lane will be closed from its junction with The Street for approximately five days beginning on 1 April 2026. No alternative route is available, but access will be maintained where possible.
High Wych Lane, High Wych From 30 March 2026, High Wych Lane will be closed for seven days. The closure affects the section from its junction with High Wych Road northwestwards.
Cherry Green Lane, Westmill Scheduled to close on 30 March 2026 for five days, Cherry Green Lane will be inaccessible from a point northeast of Westmill Restricted Byway No.004.
Various Roads in Hertford Heath From 1 April 2026, roads including Church Hill and Woodland Road in Hertford Heath will face closures for one day to accommodate necessary works.
Ford Hill, Little Hadham Ford Hill will be closed on 1 April 2026 for utility repair works. The closure spans from Little Hadham Public Footpath No.051 to The Ford.
Cappell Lane, Stanstead Abbotts Starting on 1 April 2026, Cappell Lane will be closed for seven days. The closure extends from B181 High Street to Hollycross Road.
Bromley Lane, Standon/Much Hadham Bromley Lane will face a ten-day closure starting on 1 April 2026. The affected section runs from C15 unnamed road to Hadham Road.
Various Roads in Broxbourne, Braughing, Ware and Cheshunt From 1 April 2026, several roads including Park Lane in Broxbourne and Northfield in Braughing will experience closures lasting five days.
