Hertfordshire County Council has announced a series of temporary road closures and waiting restrictions across various locations in the county, set to commence from February 2026. These measures are being implemented under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate essential works.

Key Closures and Restrictions

1. A10 (Unnamed Road), Cheshunt: The road will be closed from its junction with the B198 Lieutenant Ellis Way roundabout southwards for approximately 822m. Alternative routes include A121, A1010, A1055, and the M25.
2. Aldbury Grove Road, Cheshunt: Closure from Rushleigh Avenue to B176 Turners Hill for approximately 218m. Access will be maintained where possible.
3. Friars Road and Bridleways, Braughing: Closure of Friars Road and several bridleways for utility service works. No alternative routes are available.
4. New Barns Lane, Much Hadham: Closure for telegraph pole replacement. Access to properties will be maintained.
5. Stanstead Road and Rye Road, Hoddesdon: Gas main works will necessitate closures with alternative routes via Stanstead Road and Old Highway.
6. Various Roads in Walkern, Broxbourne, and Hunsdon: Multiple roads will be closed for works with some having no alternative routes available.
7. Temporary Waiting Restrictions: Various roads in Hoddesdon, Waltham Cross, Broxbourne, Cheshunt, Ware, and Buntingford will have waiting restrictions while works are in progress.

Duration and Contact Information

The orders are set to come into force on various dates starting from 23 February 2026 and may last up to 18 months. However, the specific restrictions will only apply at times indicated by signage on or near the affected roads.
