Hertfordshire County Council has issued a series of temporary road closure and restriction orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. These measures are necessary to facilitate various works across the county.

Blacksmiths Hill, Benington and Vicarage Close, Standon From 6 April 2026, Blacksmiths Hill in Benington and Vicarage Close in Standon will be closed to all vehicular traffic except for access. The works are expected to last seven days. No alternative routes are available.

A507 Rushden/Baldock Road Weight Restrictions Starting 8 April 2026, the existing 7.5-tonne weight restrictions on A507 Rushden/Baldock Road will be temporarily suspended to allow delivery and haulage for a construction project. This order will be in effect for six weeks.

Newgatestreet Road, Goffs Oak Scheduled for closure on 6 April 2026, Newgatestreet Road will be closed for one day with an alternative route via Newgatestreet Road and B156 Goffs Lane.

B1037 Cottered On 6 April 2026, B1037 in Cottered will be closed for tree works. An alternative route is provided via several local roads.

Bury Lane, Datchworth Utility service works will close Bury Lane on 6 April 2026 for one day. An alternative route is available via local roads.

Malting Lane, Braughing Scheduled for closure on 9 April 2026 for utility works, Malting Lane will have an alternative route via B1368 Green End and Ford Street.

Moor Green Road, Ardeley From 8 April 2026, Moor Green Road will be closed for two days to replace a telegraph pole. An alternative route is provided.

Hertford Road, Tewin Utility service works will close Hertford Road on 6 April 2026 for one day with an alternative route available.

Cock Lane, Hoddesdon From 7 April 2026, Cock Lane will be closed for three days with no waiting allowed on both sides of the road during works.

Queens Road, Waltham Cross Starting on 7 April 2026, Queens Road will undergo traffic management measures for four days due to water connection works.
