Hertfordshire County Council has issued several temporary traffic orders affecting various roads across the county, set to commence in February 2025. These measures are necessary to facilitate essential utility and infrastructure works.

Cottered Road Closure

The B1037 in Cottered will be closed from its junction with Blind Lane for approximately 15 metres due to utility service works. The closure will be effective from 15 February 2025 for up to 18 months, with alternative routes provided via B1037, A1155, A1072, A602, B197, A507, and B656.

Hoddesdon Traffic Management

In Hoddesdon, Roman Street will see a temporary prohibition of vehicular traffic and suspension of the one-way system to allow utility works. This order will take effect on 14 February 2025 for up to 18 months. Alternative routes include Burford Street, A1170, Duke Street, and North Road.

Hertford Road Closures

Mangrove Road in Hertford will be closed for electrical service connection works from 17 February 2025. The closure affects two sections of the road with alternative routes via Mangrove Lane, Goose Green Lord Street, and other local roads.

Goffs Oak Road Closures

Halstead Hill and B156 Goffs Lane in Goffs Oak will be closed for utility works starting 15 February 2025. Alternative routes include Silver Street, Jones Road, and B156.

Stanstead Abbotts and Stanstead St Margarets

Road closures in these areas will begin on 3 February 2025 for works execution. Hoddesdon Road and The Granary are affected with alternative routes via B181 Station Road and A1170.

Pye Corner Restrictions

Pye Corner in Gilston will experience road closures and waiting restrictions from 3 February 2025 due to ongoing works. An alternative route is available via Eastwick Road and A414.

Bishop’s Stortford Traffic Orders

New traffic regulations in Bishop’s Stortford will introduce waiting restrictions, a bus gate, a 20 mph zone, and prohibition of turns on specified roads starting 7 February 2025. Detailed plans can be viewed at County Hall or online.
