Hertfordshire County Council announces temporary road closures and restrictions from April 2025 to facilitate essential utility and maintenance works across the county

In a series of public notices, Hertfordshire County Council has announced several temporary road closures and restrictions across the county, effective from mid-April 2025. These measures are being implemented under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate various utility and maintenance works.

Bridleway Little Berkhamsted 21 Closure

The Bridleway Little Berkhamsted 21 will be temporarily closed to pedestrians, horse riders, and cyclists from April 22 for up to two days. This closure is necessary to enable utilities works. An alternative route is available via Little Berkhamsted 6 and 24. For further information, contact Nicholas Maddex at Hertfordshire County Council.

Bramfield Lane, Waterford Closure

Bramfield Lane in Waterford will be closed to all vehicular traffic from April 28 for up to 18 months, although the restrictions will only apply when indicated by signage. The closure is required for utility service works. Alternative routes include Tattle Hill, Bramfield Road, and A119 High Road. Mill Lane, Watton At Stone Closure

Mill Lane in Watton At Stone will also see a temporary closure starting April 30 for up to 18 months due to utility service works. Various Roads in Brickendon and Hertford Closures

Several roads in Brickendon and Hertford will experience closures starting May 1 for up to 18 months. These include sections of Brickendon Lane, Pembridge Lane, Queens Road, Villiers Street, and Morgans Road. Alternative routes have been provided for each affected road segment. Orchard Road, Tewin Closure

Orchard Road in Tewin will be closed from April 28 for up to 18 months due to utility service works. An alternative route is available via several local roads including Harmer Green Lane and B1000 Hertford Road. Shaun Whitfield at TBF Traffic or Andrew Crosby can provide further details.

B1368 Green End, Braughing Closure

Collett Road and High Oak Road, Ware Waiting Restrictions

Temporary waiting restrictions will be enforced on Collett Road and High Oak Road in Ware starting April 14 for up to 18 months due to remedial works. Ana Lupu at Cappagh or Andrew Crosby can provide additional information.

Various Roads in Little Berkhamsted, Bayford, Westmill and Bramfield Closures

Coltsfoot Lane, Datchworth Closure

B156 Halfhide Lane, Cheshunt Closure
