In a recent announcement, Hertfordshire County Council has detailed several temporary road closures and traffic orders affecting various locations across the county. These measures are being implemented under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate essential works.

Church Lane, Wormley and White Stubbs Lane, Broxbourne Closure

The council plans to close Church Lane in Wormley from its junction with White Stubbs Lane to the access road leading to Wormleybury Manor. Similarly, White Stubbs Lane in Broxbourne will be closed from its junction with Church Lane for approximately 200 metres. These closures are necessary for gas main replacement works and will commence on Monday May 12 2025, lasting up to 18 months. Alternative routes have been provided via nearby roads.

Munden Road, Dane End Closure

Munden Road in Dane End will be closed from its junction with Pearman Drive to Church Lane for overhead cabling works starting Tuesday May 13 2025. The closure will last up to 18 months, with alternative routes available.

Various Roads in Ware, Waltham Cross, Cheshunt, Standon and Wellpond Green

Temporary closures and waiting restrictions will affect several roads in these areas due to ongoing works. Notably, The Crest in Ware and Cockbush Avenue in Hertford will have no alternative routes during the works, but access to properties will be maintained where possible.

Burton Lane, Goffs Oak Closure

Burton Lane in Goffs Oak will be closed for electrical works from Monday May 12 2025. An alternative route is available via surrounding roads.

Orchard Road, Tewin and Bramfield Lane, Waterford Closures

Both roads will be closed for utility service works starting Monday April 28 2025. Alternative routes have been arranged for affected areas.

Brickendon and Hertford Road Closures

Several roads in Brickendon and Hertford will be closed starting Thursday May 1 2025 for necessary works. Alternative routes are provided for each affected road.

Mill Lane, Watton at Stone Closure

Mill Lane will be closed from Wednesday April 30 2025 for utility service works. Access to properties will be maintained as much as possible during the closure.

Pedestrian and Cycle Zone in Ware

A new pedestrian and cycle zone is proposed for West Street and Tudor Square in Ware to improve safety and amenities. This order prohibits motor vehicles except for loading and permit holders.

Waiting Restrictions on London Road and Viaduct Road, Ware

New waiting restrictions are set to take effect on Saturday May 10 2025 on parts of London Road and Viaduct Road in Ware.
