Hertfordshire County Council has issued a series of temporary traffic orders affecting various roads across the county, set to commence in June 2025. These measures are being implemented under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate essential works and ensure public safety.

High Street, Watton at Stone

A temporary closure will affect High Street from its junction with Walkern Road to Ware Road, covering approximately 1025 metres. The closure is necessary for proposed works on or near the road. An alternative route will be available via High Street, A602 Watton at Stone Bypass, and Ware Road. The order will be effective from 4 June 2025 for up to 18 months, with restrictions applying only as indicated by signage.

Crabbs Lane, Stocking Pelham

Crabbs Lane will be closed from a point 17 metres southeast of its junction with Ginns Road for approximately 30 metres. This closure is required for utility service works, with no alternative route available. Access to properties will be maintained where possible. The order is effective from 4 June 2025 for up to 18 months.

Crib Street, Ware

Crib Street will be closed from its junction with Princes Street northeastwards for about 12 metres due to utility service works. An alternative route will be provided via Crib Street, Church Street, A1170 (High Street/Baldock Street), The Bourne, and Crib Street. This order is also effective from 4 June 2025 for up to 18 months.

Warren Lane, Braughing

The closure of Warren Lane from Ford Street to A120 Standon Road is necessary for utility pole replacement and tree cutting. Alternative routes include Ford Street, B1368 (Station Road/Wickham Hill), and others. The order starts on 3 June 2025 for up to 18 months.

Various Roads in Hertford Heath, High Cross, and Rush Green

Several roads including Downfield Road and Standon Green End will face closures due to proposed works. Alternative routes are provided where applicable. The order takes effect on 3 June 2025 for up to 18 months.

C95 (Unnamed Road), Levens Green

This road will be closed from its junction with Beggarmans Lane northwestwards for approximately 780 metres for tarmac installation works. An alternative route is available via C95 (unnamed road), Stockalls Lane, and others. The order begins on 2 June 2025 for up to 18 months.

East End, Furneux Pelham

A closure along East End from Ginns Road westwards for about 1550 metres is planned due to proposed works. An alternative route includes Maggots End and Manuden Road. The order starts on 2 June 2025 for up to 18 months.

Footpath in Cheshunt

The footpath behind Nos.24-32 Fleming Close and Nos.77-107 Smarts Green will be closed from Adamsfield to Longfield Lane for six months starting on 2 June 2025 due to nearby works.

Bucks Alley, Essendon

Bucks Alley will close from a point southeast of Robins Nest Hill for approximately 74 metres due to substation replacement works. An alternative route is provided via Bucks Alley and other roads. The order commences on 2 June 2025 for up to 18 months.
