Devon County Council has announced a temporary prohibition of through traffic and parking on Herschell Road in Exeter. This restriction is set to commence on April 20, 2026, and is anticipated to conclude by May 15, 2026. The measure is being implemented to facilitate a lead replacement scheme.
During this period, no vehicles will be allowed to proceed or wait on the affected sections of Herschell Road. To accommodate the disruption, an alternative route has been designated via Elmside, Salisbury Road, and Iddesleigh Road.
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow the signed diversion routes. For further details or inquiries about the project, individuals can contact South West Water at 03443462020.
This notice was issued by Meg Booth, Director of Climate Change, Environment & Transport at Devon Highways. The order is made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14.
