Devon County Council has announced a temporary prohibition of through traffic and parking on Fairhazel Drive in Exeter. This measure is part of a planned gas mains replacement project. The restriction will commence on Tuesday March 31 2026 and is expected to conclude by Tuesday April 28 2026.
During this period no vehicles will be allowed to proceed or wait on the affected sections of Fairhazel Drive. To accommodate the closure an alternative route has been designated. Vehicles will be directed via Knowle Drive Moorland Way Kinnerton Way St Andrews Road and Exwick Road with the route clearly signed.
The temporary restriction is deemed necessary to facilitate the safe and efficient completion of the gas mains replacement work. Wales & West Utilities is responsible for the project and can be contacted for further information at 0800 9122999.
Residents and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience. Those who have any concerns or believe they may be adversely impacted are encouraged to contact Devon County Council's Highways Department.
The order was made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14 by Meg Booth Director of Climate Change Environment & Transport at Devon Highways.
