Exeter City Council has announced a series of planning applications that may impact the setting of listed buildings and the character or appearance of conservation areas. These applications are available for public viewing on the council's website, with opportunities for objections, comments, or support to be submitted within 24 days of the notice.
Among the notable applications is the proposal for a new temporary single-storey Mental Health Research and Development Facility at Wonford House Hospital on Dryden Road in Priory. This development includes the demolition of existing temporary structures (application reference: 25/1792/FUL).
In Topsham, at 2 Higher Riverdale on Exe Street, plans have been submitted for a replacement car port with an extension to provide first-floor accommodation, a single-storey side extension, and a replacement first-floor rear balcony with balustrade (application reference: 25/1785/FUL).
Other applications include a single-storey side extension at 8 Penleonard Close in Newtown & St Leonards (application reference: 25/1791/FUL), and a two-storey rear extension with a single-storey side garage at 30 West Avenue in Duryard & St James (application reference: 25/1796/FUL).
Additionally, there is a proposal for replacing an existing outbuilding at 92 Fore Street in Topsham (application reference: 25/1696/FUL), which also affects a listed building.
A separate listed building application has been made for The Bungalow at Mount Wear Court on Countess Wear Road in Priory. This retrospective application involves repair works including the replacement of slate tiles on the main pitch and repairs to the flat roof and apex wood (application reference: 25/1797/LBC).
The public is encouraged to review these proposals and submit any representations via the Exeter City Council's planning portal or by contacting the assigned Case Officer directly. Those who have any concerns or believe they may be adversely impacted are encouraged to participate in this consultation process.
