Exeter City Council has announced several planning applications that could impact the setting of listed buildings and the character or appearance of conservation areas. These applications are open for public viewing and feedback on the council's website.

One significant proposal involves the demolition of the multi-storey car park on Mary Arches Street in St Davids. The plan is to replace it with a co-living development, which includes public realm improvements, landscaping, cycle and car parking, servicing, refuse and recycling provision, along with other associated works. This application is identified under reference 25/0781/FUL.

Another application concerns 3 Southernhay West in St Davids, where there is a proposal to change the use from commercial, business and services (Class E) to a single dwellinghouse. This application affects both a conservation area and a listed building, referenced as 26/0239/FUL.

Additionally, at 30 Bedford Street in St Davids, there is a proposal to change the use from a restaurant (Use Class E(b)) to retail (Use Class E(a)). This includes the removal of a shop canopy and painting the render in brand colours. This application is noted as 26/0305/FUL.

A listed building application has also been submitted for 82 Longbrook Street in Duryard & St James. The proposal involves placing vented chimney cowls on the side elevation chimney stack, referenced as 26/0253/LBC.

Members of the public can submit their objections, comments or support via the Exeter City Council website or by emailing the assigned Case Officer within 24 days from the notice date of 11 March 2026.
