Devon County Council has issued several temporary road traffic orders affecting various roads in Exeter and Broadclyst. These measures are set to commence in April 2026 and are necessary to facilitate essential infrastructure works.
Manor Road, Exeter
A temporary prohibition of through traffic will be enforced on Manor Road from 7 April 2026, with an anticipated completion date of 24 April 2026. This closure is required for lead pipe replacement works. There is no alternative route available. For further details, contact South West Water at 0844 346 2020.
Cedars Road, Exeter
From 1 May 2026, parking will be temporarily prohibited on Cedars Road until the expected finish on 22 May 2026. This restriction supports gas mains replacement works. Wales & West Utilities can provide more information at 0800 9122999.
Bystock Terrace, Exeter
Parking will be restricted on Bystock Terrace from No.1 to No.9 starting on 29 April 2026, concluding by 4 May 2026. This is to enable meter exchange operations. South West Water can be contacted at the same number as above for additional information.
Old Coach Road, Broadclyst
A prohibition of both through traffic and parking will be in place from 6 April to 17 April 2026 on Old Coach Road. An alternative route will be signposted via Station Road, B3174, A30, Honiton Road, Ambassador Drive, Cumberland Way, Pinhoe Road, and B3181. St Leonards Road, Exeter
Traffic will be prohibited from passing through St Leonards Road from 27 April to 11 May 2026 to address water quality issues by replacing lead pipes. An alternative route will be available via Magdalen Road, Wonford Road, Marlborough Road, and back to Magdalen Road.
Clyst Road, Topsham
The road will be closed to through traffic from 6 April until approximately 15 May 2026 due to gas mains works. A detailed diversion route has been planned involving Clyst Road, Denver Road, Exeter Road, Topsham Road, Bridge Road, Rydon Lane, and other connecting roads.
Salmonpool Lane, Exeter
Parking restrictions will apply from 3 April until the end of November 2026 to maintain sufficient width for lorries to turn. BVLR Projects Ltd can provide further information at 01392 949105.
