Devon County Council has announced several temporary road traffic restrictions across Exeter and Coffinswell starting in March 2026. These measures are necessary to facilitate essential works such as lead replacements and drainage improvements.
Duckworth Road, Exeter From 5 March to 31 March, Duckworth Road will be closed from the junction with Barton Road to Old Vicarage Road. The closure is to enable lead replacements to resolve water quality issues. Alternative routes include Parkhouse Road, Cowick Lane, Cowick Street, and Old Vicarage Road.
Archibald Road, Exeter Starting on 2 March until 17 March, Archibald Road will be closed with no alternative route available. This closure is also for lead replacement works.
Russell Street, Exeter From 23 March to 15 May, Russell Street will be pedestrianised with no alternative route. This is part of a project to adjust the kerbline and add traffic calming measures.
Road from Courtwell House to Greenacres, Coffinswell This road will be closed from 23 March to 2 April for drainage works. An alternative route is provided via Willowpark Lane and Home Farm.
Red Lion Lane & Verney Street, Exeter From 16 March to 15 September 2027, parking will be prohibited on these roads to install hoarding for site security.
