Devon County Council (DCC) has announced its intention to dispose of approximately 0.6 hectares of land at the former Matford Offices site, located at County Hall, Topsham Road, Exeter, Devon EX2 4QD. This area includes land designated as open space. The decision is made under Section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972.

The council had previously issued a notice regarding this disposal in December 2023. However, given the time elapsed since the initial notice, DCC has decided to reissue the notice to ensure transparency and allow for any new objections to be considered alongside those previously submitted.

Residents and interested parties who wish to object to the proposed disposal must submit their objections in writing. These should be addressed to Legal Services, Devon County Council, County Hall, Topsham Road, Exeter, Devon EX2 4QD, quoting reference DEV006/097. All objections must be received by no later than 19 December 2025.

The land in question is part of a larger site known as the Matford Office Site and is marked on a plan accompanying the notice. The council's decision to proceed with this disposal reflects ongoing considerations about the use and management of public spaces within Exeter.

Those who have any concerns or believe they may be adversely impacted by this disposal are encouraged to submit their views before the deadline. Further details can be found in the original public notice published in the Exeter Express & Echo.
