Devon County Council has announced several significant changes to road traffic regulations in Exeter, impacting both residents and commuters. These changes include amendments to residents' parking and temporary prohibitions on through traffic across various roads.

Dryden Road Residents Parking Amendment

The council has made an amendment order for Dryden Road, Exeter, which will come into force on 20 March 2026. This order revokes the existing residents' parking restrictions from Monday to Friday between 10am and 5pm in Zone N on a specified length of Dryden Road. Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Several temporary traffic orders have been issued under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

• School Road, Exeter: From 23 March 2026 for up to 18 months, a prohibition of through traffic is necessary for lead pipe replacement works. No alternative route is available.
• Road from Courtwell House to Greenacres, Coffinswell: Starting 23 March 2026 for drainage works with an alternative route provided.
• Archibald Road, Exeter: From 13 April 2026 for lead pipe replacement, prohibiting through traffic and parking.
• Cambridge Street, Exeter: Effective from 23 March 2026 for lead replacement works with an alternative route via Buller Road and Brunswick Street.
• Russell Street, Exeter: From 23 March 2026 for pedestrianisation and traffic calming measures.
• Old Vicarage Road, Exeter: Starting 20 April 2026 for lead replacement works with a detailed alternative route provided.
• Cleveland Street, Clinton Street & Oakfield Road, Exeter: From 15 April 2026 for gas mains replacement with rolling road closures.
