Hertfordshire County Council has announced a proposed planning application concerning the variation of condition number 3 regarding the hours of operation for an existing planning permission at Cattlegate Farm, located on Cattlegate Road, Northaw, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, EN2 8AU. This proposal involves a change in the operational hours of a composting facility that processes up to 25,000 tonnes per annum of imported biodegradable wastes.

The original planning permission, granted on 10 July 2013 under reference 6/1773-11 [PL/0380/11], allowed for the change of use of arable land and included associated re-grading of ground levels to facilitate the composting operations. Additionally, there is a minor modification proposed to the route of Footpath 15 along the eastern side of the application site.

This development is situated within the Green Belt, which may raise concerns regarding environmental impact and land use.
