In a recent public notice, Plymouth City Council has announced a temporary prohibition on parking, waiting, loading, and unloading of vehicles, as well as the movement of pedestrians in specific areas of Boringdon Hill. This measure is being implemented under the City of Plymouth (Colebrook Lane/Boringdon Hill/Bainbridge Court) Temporary Prohibition Order 2025, in accordance with section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The affected areas include:

• Parking, waiting, loading, and unloading restrictions:
  • Colebrook Lane between Boringdon Hill and Colebrook Lane
  • Boringdon Hill between Fairfield and number 27
• Pedestrian movement restrictions:
  • Bainbridge Court between numbers 1 and 10
  • Boringdon Hill between number 31 and 1 Bainbridge Court

These restrictions will be enforced on the days and during the hours when appropriate traffic signs are displayed. The order will come into effect on Monday April 14 2025 and is set to remain in force for up to 18 months. However, it is anticipated that the phased gas main works necessitating these restrictions will commence on April 14 2025 and conclude by May 30 2025, operating around the clock.
