In a recent public notice, the London Borough of Ealing has announced a temporary traffic order affecting the slip road on Western Avenue, Acton. This order, under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, is necessary to facilitate repairs to a damaged traffic signal pole by Signal Services on behalf of Transport for London (TfL).

The closure will impact the slip road located at the corner of A40 Western Avenue and Old Oak Common Lane. From 10pm on Tuesday April 22 2025, there will be no left turn eastbound from Western Avenue onto Old Oak Common Lane. The order prohibits entry into the closed section of the slip road and restricts waiting, loading, or unloading on either side of the carriageway within this area.

These restrictions will be clearly marked with appropriate traffic signs in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual. Motorists are advised to follow diversion routes displayed to reach their destinations and adhere to any traffic management measures in place.

The order will come into force at 10pm on April 22 2025 and is expected to last until 5am on April 23 2025. However, it may remain in effect until February 4 2026 if necessary. Exemptions apply for actions directed by police officers or vehicles used by emergency services.
