Reading FC defender Axel Andresson has signed a one-month loan deal at Torquay United.

The 19-year-old links up with former Royals coach Martin Kuhl, who is assistant boss at the National League club.

The Icelander spent last season on loan at Bath City under Gary Owers, who is now the head coach at The Gulls.

Andresson has made two appearances for Reading so far this season in the Carabao Cup.

He started the 3-1 win over Millwall in the second round while he came on as a substitute in the 2-0 first-round win over Gillingham.

Andresson is the second Icelandic player to represent Torquay United as he follows in the footsteps of former Reading defender Ivar Ingimarsson, who played for the club on four occasions in 1999.

Andresson will remain at Torquay until Saturday, January 6, 2018.
