Plymouth City Council has announced several temporary traffic restrictions across the city to facilitate essential roadworks and safety improvements. These measures are set to impact various roads, with specific details outlined below.
Resurfacing and Associated Works
From 1 June 2026 to 30 September 2026, multiple roads will undergo phased resurfacing. Affected areas include: - Elliot Road: Inbound from Cotehele Avenue to Embankment Road - Octagon Street: Entirety - Laira Bridge Road: Inbound between Heles Terrace to Elliot Road - Plymbridge Road: From Blue Haze Close to Fine Tubes Car Park - Embankment Road: Outbound from Cattedown Roundabout to Langham Place

Gas Main Works
Starting 15 June 2026, gas main works will affect roads including: - North Road East: Westbound between Evelyn Place and Plymouth Train Station entrance - Winston Avenue: Entirety - James Street: From North Road East to rear of number 81

Regeneration Works on Roberts Road
Roberts Road will be closed from Mantle Gardens to Poole Park Road from 15 June 2026 to 18 September 2026 for regeneration works. Champion Groundworks Ltd is overseeing these works and can be reached at 01579 320080.
Com-Pipe Works on Dairy Lane
Dairy Lane will experience a temporary closure from 17 June 2026 to 19 June 2026 for com-pipe works. Kier, on behalf of SWW, is managing this project. Contact them at 0344 346 2020.
Emergency Safety Works on Durnford Street Area
From 31 May 2026 to 30 June 2026, emergency restrictions will be in place around Durnford Street due to unstable building safety concerns. Roads affected include: - Durnford Street: From Emma Place to Durnford Street Ope - Emma Place Ope: From Emma Place to Caroline Place - Cremyll Street: One-way suspension from Durnford Street to Durnford Street Ope
